INDIA LEADS ON FIRST INNINGS

(Rec. 8.30 p.m.) MONTGOMERY (Punjab), Jan. 22. The Indian touring team gained a first innings lead of 184 runs over the Central Zone of Pakistan today. The tourists scored 307 for seven declared, in answer to the Central Zone’s total of 123. But by the end of the second day’s play in the three-day game, Central Zone had rall’ed in ita second innings to score 116 without loss and wipe out all but 68 runs of the arrears.

Vijay Manjrekar, one of the overnight Indian batsmen, just completed his century today, before he stepped out to a ball from Nayyar, missed, and was stumped.
