FIRST NOTICE of intention to consider further applications for a new Licence. WHEREAS on the 18th day of June, 1952, the 25th day of June, 1952, and the 2nd day of July, 1952, notices were given under Section 52 (1), Licensing Amendment Act, 1948, that the Licensing Control Commission had authorised the issue of a new Publican’s Licence within the Hurunui Licensing District and that the Hurunui Licensing Committee would receive and consider applications for such Licence, AND WHEREAS the application of the Cheviot Licensing Trust made in that behalf and granted on the 16th day of December, 1953. was as to such grant abandoned by the said Trust on the 10th Decemb er, 1954, upon the refusal of the said Committee to allow the said Trust to proceed upon its final building plans so substantially amended by the said Trust as to be deemed by the said Committee to be new: NOW, THEREFORE notice is hereby given that the said Committee having accepted such abandonment will receive and consider de novo further applications for such licence.

The situation, locality or area, in which such licence is authorised to be issued is specified in the schedule below: (1) Particulars of the actual or minimum standards of accommodation and services laid down and required to be provided for the proposed licensed premises have deposited in the Magistrate’s Court offices at Culverden, Rangiora, and Christchurch, and are available for inspection during office hours. (2) Each application shall be in duplicate, and in accordance with the Licensing Act, 1908, and the Licensing Amendment Act, 1948, and shall be lodged with the Clerk of the Hurunui Licensing Committee at the Magistrate’s Court at Rangiora not later than the 7th day of April, 1955.

(3) Each application shall be accompanied by a statement in writing specifying particulars of the site and of the premises or proposed premises in respect of which the application is made and of the estate or interest of the applicant therein, and shall be accompanied by a detailed scale plan of the whole of the premises.
