WANGANUI WOOL SALE

PRICES ON PAR WITH DECEMBER RATES

GOOD COMPETITION FOR 30,500 BALES (New Zealand Press Association) WANGANUI, January 12. Prices in line with those realised at the closing sales in New in December were obtained today at the second main Wanganui wool sale of the current season. A catalogue of 30,561 bales was submitted, and a total clearance was effected. An official report, issued by the Wanganui Woolbrokers’ Association in conjunction with the New Zealand Wool Disposals Commission and the New Zealand Woolbuyers’ Association, says:— “There was a preponderance of ewe wool, but the catalogue also contained a fair proportion of hogget wool which had missed the earlier sale. The usual quota of lambs* wool and pieces was also included. „ _ “The wool opened up well. Competition was good and fairly well spread. A few lines of picked lambs* wool commanded premium prices, but this was not any Indication of the market generally. “Prices on the whole were much in line with those realised at the closing sales in December. This means that they were a little ih advance of those obtained in Wanganui in November.” Following is the official range of prices:
