MAN FOUND DEAD IN DRAIN
(New Zealand Press Association) PALMERSTON NORTH, Dec. 20. The body of a 70-year-old man was found lying face downward in a drain on the side of Cleverley’s Line, Bunnythorpe, at 8.45 a.m. yesterday. He was: Mr Ernest Arthur Edwards, also known as Jack Edwards of Cleverley’s Line. Mr Edwards had been dead for some time when the police arrived. It appeared that he had slipped into the drain while walking along the bank. There was little water in the drain at the time.
