ASHBURTON COUNTY WINS AGGREGATE Though it did not win an event, the ! Ashburton County Pipe Band scored ' consistently high marks and won the ’ championship aggregate at the Canterbury pipe rand contest at Lancaster Park on Saturday. Second was the City of Christchurch A band which ■ won two events, came equal first in i another and finished third twice. Ashburton scored 520.875 points, and Christchurch scored 518.375. North Canterbury Caledonian finished third in the aggregate with 516 A Christchurch Ladies was fourth. This year, record entries (11 competing) were received and the standard. according to the music, marching and dress judges, was equal to the highest provincial level and perhaps above that in previous Canterbury championships.
