SHAREMARKET INDICES

In London, the "Financial Times” industrial index rose to a record of 182.3 on Thursday of last week. On the same day the Dow Jones industrial share index, after the success of the Democrats at the mid-term election, rose 5 points to a new 25-year peak of 366.95, making a gain for the four days of 13 points.
