Search For Missing Navy Plane
NEW YORK, Ngv. 7. A United States Navy plane today spotted a “yellow object” in the Atlantic while searching for a Navy Super Constellation which vanished a week ago with 42 persons aboard. A spokesman said the object apparently was an uninflated life raft. It was seen about 70 miles from the last position reported by the plane before contact was lost. The Navy announced yesterday that a search for the missing aircraft had been resumed with several squadrons of planes and a destroyer.
