OUTLAW ARMY IN ALGERIA

French To Launch Offensive (N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) (Rec. 11.10 p.m.) BATNA (Algeria), November 8. The outlaw army in the nigged Aures mountains in Algeria now totals 3000 men, commanded by a “General Staff* in touch with Cairo, according to the latest French estimates. Meantime an estimated division of french soldiers, including paratroops, are massed ip the mountains. Further reinforcements are on the way ready to launch an all out offensive against the outlaws in the next few days. The situation in Batna, however, has improved and the curfew has been relaxed.

The outlaws over the week-end confined their activities mainly to sabotaging communications, including highways.. French police today 1 reported that they found weapons arid bomb dumps. They had also discovered plots to smuggle arms into Algeria from France by sea and air. $
