FINE OF £100 FOR ASSAULT

(New . Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, November 4. For assaulting a man with his plaster arm and breaking his jaw and nose, Leon Frederick Bueno, aged 24, a presser, was today fined £lOO by Mr Justice North in the Auckland Supreme Court, in default six months’ imprisonment. Bueno appeared for sentence on a count of assault causing actual bodily harm. Special features, which he did not propose to elaborate, justified his taking a special course in Bueno’s case, his Honour said, but the Courts at no time should be considered as taking a tolerant view of behavious such as this.
