NAVAL COMMANDER AT AUCKLAND

CAPTAIN HERRICK ARRIVES FROM ENGLAND (N«w Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, November 4. The first New Zealander to hold the position of Naval Officer-in-Charge, Auckland, and commanding officer of H.M.N.Z.S. Philomel, Captain T. D. Herrick, D.S.C. and Bar, R.N., arrived at Auckland today in the Rangitata. He will succeed Captain M. L. Hardie, DSC R N Captain Herrick’s last appointment was that of executive officer. Royal Naval Base, Devonport, England. He is accompanied by his wife and two children. His elder son will not leave London until the end of the year.
