(Rec. 11.30 p.m.) NEW YORK, Nov. 4. Mr James Roosevelt (Democrat) has won a seat in the House of Representatives for California over what many politicians had believed were insurmountable odds. • At one time the former President’s eldest son had considered-giving up the contest. ■ That was after his estranged wife, Romelle, had accused him of infidelity with a dozen women, and the Democratic national chairman. Mr Stephen Mitchell, had told him to get out of politics until his domestic affairs were straightened out. But Mr Roosevelt, who denied any misconduct, decided to stick by his guns. He campaigned hard.
