BUNGALOW SOLD FOR £5200
£7O AN ACRE PAID FOR PENINSULA LAND Four properties were, sold at auction in Christchurch yesterday afternoon. A bungalow on a 32-perch section in Makora street, Fendalton, was sold for £5200. The first bid was £4BOO. The bungalow contains two livingrooms and three bedrooms. A bungalow on a 31-perch corner section in Ilam road was sold for £3900. It has,two bedrooms, a sunroom, and a living-room. A farm at Duvauchelle Bay was offered for sale in four lots. The first lot is a block of 59 J acres, including a pine and bluegum plantation and some sheepyards. The first bid for the lot was £4O an acre, but in a very short time the price had risen to £6O an acre, and after several further bids had been made, Mrs M. F. Calvert and Mr D. J. Burnett bought the property for £7O an acre, or £4165. Bidding was also keen for .a block of 11 acres of the farm. This was bought for £l2OO by Mr L. Craw, acting as an agent. Another block of 28 2-3 acres was passed in, as the highest bid, £56 an acre, was short of the reserve. A house of three bedrooms and a hvmg-room, standing on half an acre, was the fourth lot of the farm property. This also was passed in. The highest bid was £2700.
