INDIA TO EXPORT MORE TEA
NEW DELHI, October 31. The Indian Government has decided to raise the tea export quota after a review of the crop position, it was announced today. It will be increased from 417,900,0001 b to 449,230,0001 b out of this year’s crop. The earlier quota figure was announced about two months ago. It represents 120 per cent, of the standard export figure. This has now been raised to 129 per cent, as compared with a permissible maximum of 135 per cent, under the International Tea Agreement.
