Mr H. R. Young, the Australian and New Zealand representative on the Port of London Authority, arrived at Wellington in the Wanganella yesterJ y morning. Mr Young will attend the New Zealand ports and harbours conference tomorrow, where he will represent the Dock and Harbours Authorities’ Association of the United Kingdom. After the conference he will make a business tour of New Zealand in an effort to develop trade between Britain and New Zealand.— (P.A.)
Mr D. Lapid, the First Secretary and Consul of the Israeli Legation in Australia and New Zealand, arrived at Wellington in the Wanganella yesterday morning. Mr Lapid has held his present position for the last three years and is returning to Israel. Though his offices were in Australia. Mr Lapid had made periodical visits to the Dominion.—(P.A.) Mr J. B. Hatrick. of Wellington, has been appointed general manager at Melbourne for the Prestige group of companies. He will retain his directorship with Prestige (N.Z.), Ltd. Mr Hatrick is vicS’-president of the Now Zealand Manufacturers’ Federation and a member of the Government Immigration Advisory Council and president of the Miramar Golf Club. — (PA..) The City Council yesterday pass i a motion of sympathy with the widow and family of Mr C. C. Crocker, of the Municipal Electricity Department.
