DREDGE FOR OVERHAUL The Wanganui Harbour Board’s dredge Wanganui is due at Lyttelton today to undergo anrfual survey and overhaul. NEW PORT SYDNEY LAUNCHED (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, November 1. The Port Sydney, a new ship to trade between New Zealand and Australia and the United Kingdom for the Port Line, was launched at the Wallsend-on-Tyne yard of Messrs Swan. Hunter, and Wigham Richardson on October 30. The new Port Sydney, the second ship of the Port Line fleet to have that name, has an approximate deadweight carrying capacity of 11,000 tons, a length of 495 ft between perpendiculars, and a breadth of 70ft. She will have twin screws, has been designed for a service speed of 17 knots, and is expected to be commissioned about March, 1955. SHIPPING TELEGRAMS AUCKLAND, November 1. ArHved.
