B. Lorii gan, questioned w. F, Kills, rider of Can’t Fault in the Irwell Handicap at Riccarton i on Saturday, about his mount shifting her * ground after about two furlongs. Ellis said Can’t Fault moved out coming across the junction, where there were no rails to help her. i His explanation was accepted. The i stipendiary steward took into consideration also that Can’t Fault was a green filly, having her first race RACING INQUIRIES DISCUSSED Representatives ot judicial committees i of all racing dubs in the Canterbury disi trict recently met, at the request oX the Canterbury Jockey Club, and discussed judicial inquiries, with particular reference to procedure and uniformity of penalties for offences against the rules of racing. The meeting, convehed by the Canterbury District Committee, was also attended by Messrs H. B. Lorlgan and W. Freeman, the two stipendiary stewards living In Christchurch. The Canterbury District Committee has set up a panel of men experienced in judicial work, and from this panel any district dub may draw for appointment of members ct their judicial committees. Whittle, the rider of Calm Law in the Lowgarth Trial Stakes at) the Stratford Racing Club’s meeting on Saturday, broke a collarbone when his mount fell with Amorsita, ridden by C. Smith, near the . six-furlong post. The stewards found that the occurrence was accidental, and that no blame was attachable to any other jockey. They considered that Calm Lass fell over AmorHita during the running.
