RECORD NUMBER OF AWARDS ISSUED
(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, October 25. Awards earned during the year constituted a record Tor New Zealand, said the president (Mr G. D. Griffiths) at the forty-first annual meeting of the Koval Life-saving Society today. He said that much valuable work had been done by the society’s examiners and instructors. .... ~ . ~ The council decided to_ delete all references in the constitution and drill books to the Schaefer resuscitation method, and to replace them by the Holger-Nielsen method. The council carried a Wellington remit than an honorary instructors award be created and awarded to those who conduct a class of six in artificial respiration and pass a prescribed theoretical and practical test. Officers elected were:— President, Mr Griffiths: deputypresident. Mr G. L. Glackin; general secretary, Mr J. Breward; honorary treasurer and award secretary, Mr Glackin; delegate to New Zealand Surf Life-saving Association, Mr R. J. Fyfe. The following honours were conferred: —recoenition badges. Mr W. D. Lattimore (Otago) and Miss J. N. l Wallace (Manawatu); services rendered. Mr N. Pomery (South Auckland).
