Aim Of Centennial Association PRINCESS MARGARET OR DUKE OF EDINBURGH (New Zealand Press Association) INVERCARGILL, October 5. A Royal visit to Southland during 1956—the province’s centennial year—is one of the aims of the Southland Centennial Association. Princess Margaret has been invited to visit Australia for the 1956 Olywipic Games, and it has been suggested that the Duke of Edinburgh may pay a flying visit, similar to that which he made to the Empire Games at Vancouver this year. The secretary of the association (Mr C. Campbell) said today that thq, association would do everything possible to arrange a- Royal visit for the centennial. z ,The Secretary of Internal Affairs (Mr A. G. Harper), who organised the New Zealand tour of the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh, has promised to do all he can to help the association in its aim. The association discussed the possibility of .a Royal visit in 1956 when Mr Harper visited Southland recently.
