PIGEON FLYING
CANTERBURY CLUB The Canterbury Pigeon Flying Club opened its old-bird season recently, when 240 birds from 25 owners were released in the first race from Picton. J. Hartland's winning bird flew the distance of 17® miles 1265 yards in 3 hours 57 minutes 21 seconds, or at a rate of 1280 yards a minute. Results were:— J. Hartland's 135, 1280 yards a minute;
