DRAMA FESTIVAL
TOWNSWOMEN’S GUILD The fourth drama festival of the Christchurch Area Federation of Townswomen's Guilds was held in the Repertory Theatre last evening. The festival was opened by Mrs C Pl”mridge, president of the federation. The judge was Mr Harold Pointer The three guilds which competed in the festival for the Faulkner-Smith Cup were Riccarton, Linwood, and Beckenham. The winning guild was Linwood, which have won the trophy for the fourth time in succession. They presented “Members of the Jury,” by Stuart Ready, and produced by Isobel Provan. The cast was as follows: Clarice Scott Rosabel Beale, Eveline Ka *h>«®n Fulton. Daphne Borgfeldt. and Bettv Dawson. Tb e runner-up, Riccarton, oresented ’ My Hornbrook and My Top,” by Margaret Turner, produced by Margaret Flood. Members of the cast . were Prue Muschamp, Margaret Reece, i Joan Macready, Jean Sloan, Betty 1 Honbs, and Rosa Young. ? Beckenham guild presented 1 The Vixen and the Grapes.” by Mar- ■ iorie R. Watson. The producer was ! Margaret Barrer. Members of the cast , were Anne Lewis. Marv M»v, Flora S r Jf ht ’» Iv , v Brown . Nancy Hall, and Helda Jackson.
