Ship's Anchor Recovered.—When the Shaw Savill and Albion motor-ship Wairangi arrived at Lyttelton yesterday she had abroard one more anchor than she carried when she left London at the beginning of the voyage. The Wairangi called at Curacao, and anchored in Wilhelmstead harbour. When the anchor was hauled up 12 hours later there was a second anchor attached to it. It is believed that the anchor is one lost in Wilhelmstead harbour in 1952 by the same company’s ship, Tamaroa. The master of the Waitangi (Captain J. L. Stobb) was chief officer on the Tamaroa when the anchor, which weighs four and threequarter tons, was lost.
