CHILD DROWNED IN RIVER

(New Zealand Frees Association) WELLINGTON. September 14. Michael Andrew Blair, aged 4} years was drowned in the Hutt river this afternoon. He had been living with his parents at a construction camp near the pipe bridge, and about 100 yards from the river bank. At 3 p.m. the boy was seen carrying a large cardboard carton and walking towards the river. It is believed that he tried to float the carton on the water, but in dqjng so lost his balance and fell in.
