N.Z. FRIGATE TO VISIT PORT MORESBY
(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, September 10. At the request of the Australian Commonwealth Naval Board, the frigate, H.M.N.Z.S. Pukaki, commanded by Lieutenant-Commander A. V. Kemp-
thorne, is to visit Port Moresby on her return passage to New Zealand from the Ear East, says a Navy Department statement. The last time Port Morseby was visited by New Zealand ships was in July, 1950, when the Pukaki and Tutira, the first two frigates to leave for the Korean, war, called there to refuel on their way to Hong Kong.' The Pukaki left Singapore on August 31. She will call at Port Morseby, Cairns, and Brisbane, returning to Auckland on September 28.
