R. V. JACKSON WINS THIRD SINGLES TITLE
(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, September 3. R. V. Jackson, of Auckland, won his third New Zealand singles table tennis championship tonight, when the national tournament was concluded. The Otago and Nelson teams were first equal In the competition for the Victor Barna Dunlop Cup. Results were: , , Men’s Singles.—Final: R. V. Jackson (Auckland) beat M. L. Dunn (Wellington), 24-22, 21-17, 25-23. Women’s Singles.—Final: Miss J. M. Williamson (Canterbury) beat Mrs J. L. Magorian (Otago), 14-21, 21-10, 21-19, 2117. Men’s Doubles.—Semi-finals: M. L. Dunn and J. S. Crossley beat J. Armstrong and B. D. P. Williamson, 31-6, 22-20, 2113; W. O. Jaine and T. Wong beat R. V. Jackson and M. A. Lang, 21-18, 16-21, 2119, 13-21, 21-10. Final: Dunn and Crossley beat Jaine and Wong, 21-15, 21-8. 21-17.
Women’s Doubles.—Semi-finals: Misses P. M. Quinn and C. Savage beat Mesdames J. Magorian and D. Chapman, 19-21, 21-18, 19-21, -21-18. 21-18; Misses J. M. Williamson and J. Cox beat Misses M. M.
