MINOR FIRES
One unit from each of the Sydenham and Central stations answered • call to 8 Reeves road. Opawa, « 3.41 p.m. yesterday where an electric oven was on* fire in the kitchen of a house occupied by Mr R. Norrish. The fire, which caused slight damage to the stove, was extinguished without difficulty. At 12.24 p.m. units 'rom the Woolston and Central brigades went to 120 Radley street, Woolston. whete * shed and garage were on fire. The occupier of the property is Mr W. B. Pannell. Dama"e was done to the buildings and their contents. Firemen from the St. Albans station put out a tree fire at the comer oi Aorangi" and Ham roads at 11-25 a-JJ* The tree, on the banks of tn® Wairarapa stream, is believed to je the property of the Waimairi Coujg Council. The brigade has asked tne council to remove what remains 01 the tree. It is thought that the fire started by children playing with matches.
