Hurricane Hits New England Coast

A hurricane roared across the northeastern seaboard of the United States today, killing at least 45 persons, tearing up communications, and causing millions of dollars in property damage. •
Minor injuries were reported to hundreds of persons. Thousands were left homeless along the New England coastline as high tides flooded their homes. The bodies of four unidentified persons were washed up on the beach at Warwick, Rhode Island.
At Worcester, Massachusetts, a man was swept to his death from a 10storey building by a 70-mile-an-hour gust The hurricane ripped across Long Island, New York, into the southern New England coastline.
