Burwood.—The July meeting of the Burwood Country Women’s Institute took the form of an afternoon social. Visitors from Bryndwr were welcomed by the president. The roll call resulted in a large collection of pots of jam for pensioners. Several members were presented with birthday sprays. Visitors and members took part in a quiz conducted by Mrs Rose. Competitions resulted as followsbowl of winter foliage: Mrs Kearns. Jar of marmalade: Mrs Dixon 1, Mrs Cusack 2, Mrs Kearns 3.
