ELECTORAL ROLLS

DISTRIBUTION THIS MONTH “DRASTIC PURGE” MADE By the middle of this month, the rolls for use in the General Election in November would be available for distribution •to post offices, public libraries and local body offices, said the Registrar of Electors (Mr A. A. Besley) yesterday. Every elector was strongly urged to inspect the rolls to make sure his name was included, said Mr Besley. Because of the alterations to electoral boundaries there had been a drastic purge of the rolls. Electors whose names were missing from 4he lists they thought they should be on were advised to inquire at the Registrar’s office whether they were on a supplementary roll. At the office there were forms for application for inclusion on fhe roll, and they were also obtainable at post offices. The supplementary rolls are expected to close some time in October.
