MAN AND DAUGHTER SHARE FIRST PRIZE
PURCHASE OF FARM PLANNED (New Zealand Press Association) DANNEVIRKE, September 1. Half the winning prize in the “My Black Cat” art union, drawn today, will go toward placing a returned soldier farm worker, Mr M. Gunter, of Dannevirke, on a farm of his own. The winning ticket was bought by Mr Gunter in the name of himself and his daughter. Margaret, a factory worker. “Dad’s been trying to get on to a farm of his own for a long time now," she said. “I think I’ll put my share with his to give him a hand to get a start.”
