The weather forecast for Canterbury - by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, and dealing with the 37 hours following the time of issue. Situation: a cold front is moving north-eastwards off the South Island as an anti-cyclone moves eastwards across the South Tasman Sea. Forecast: decreasing r oath- west winds; weather cold and showery, but some improvement likely during the day. Outlook • fair. WEST COAST The following is the forecast for the West Coast of the South Island:— Moderate to fresh south-west winds; weather bamming fair; temperatures cool. Outlook: mainly fair. CHRISTCHURCH WEATHER After a frost of 7 degrees the day in Christchurch yesterday was fine, with a moderate north-west wind and a maximum temperature of 65.3 degrees. At midnight, the sky was cloudy, and there was a light wind from the north. The temperature was 51 degrees. The barometer, at »33 inches (lMt.l millibars), was falling unsteadily.
