The Bishop of Christchurch (the Rt. Rev. A. K. Warren) and Mrs Warren (Bishopscourt), who have been visiting England and the United States, will arrive in Auckland on Monday morning, and* are expected in Christchurch on Monday night. On their return journey to New Zealand from America they will spend two days in Honolulu, where Bishop Warren will take part- in the ceremony of opening a new church. Miss Mary McLean (St. Andrews square), who has been attending the annual conference of the National Council of Women, will return to Christchurch this morning. Mrs G. W. Fairweather (Fendalton), who also attended the conference, returned home last evening. Public* health and the family was the subject of an interesting address given last evening by Dr. H. T. Knights at the monthly meeting of the homemakers’ group of the Catholic Women’s League. He was thanked by Mrs R. Hampton. The meeting, at which the convener (Mrs J. Donnelly) presided, was opened with a spiritual address by the Rev. Father Perry, S.J., and this was followed by a short talk by Miss K. O’Connor, who outlined the programme of the conference of the Catholic Women’s League to be held in Wellington in October. It was announced that Mrs B. Bremner had been appointed honorary secretary. Hostesses were Mesdames P. Kean. P. Wilkins, M. Brown, G. Consedine. M. Costello, A. Dawson, I. Eathorne, M. French, D. Griffiths, D. Hampton. M. Hutchings, M. Hall M. McAuliffe, C. Fitzgerald, B. Rogers, M. Flanagan. A demonstration of plastic belt making was given by Miss P. Burney to the "Merry Wives’ Club” of the Young Women’s Christian Association. Mrs Mathews presided over a good attendance. At the monthly meeting of the Randolph Social Group of the New Zealand Pioneers’ Descendants' Club, a discussion on juvenile, delinquency was opened by Mrs H. A. Young, who introduced the speakers, Mesdames F. Hardy Cookson. K. Winsbury-White, C. E. Foweraker. F. S. Palmer, A. Newth, Elsie M. White (honorary secretary).
