Praise For Prussian Army System BONN, August 29. , huni Jred district fuhrers of the btahlhelm—the league of frontline merman soldiers—paraded at Recklinghausen in the Ruhr today to hear a speech by the former Luftwaffe commander, Marshal Albert Kesselring. They marched behind the black, white and red flags of imperial Germany with bands playing “The Prussian Glory.” Marshal Kesselring said: “Germans are the best soldiers in the world. The western Allies have founded their policy on the Wehrmacht efficiency in the Russian campaign. Without Germans there is no prospect of successfully countering the Bolshevik plans for world conquest.’’ Mr Lothar Tzuer, now a Free Democrat M.P., but formerly a local fuhrer, summed up the purpose of the rally by saying: “We want to bring back to the German people the old spirit—the spirit of the Japanese, the Prussians, and the Spartans.” He said all talk of a democratic army was nonsense. “It must be the Prussian system again—this was the system which created hard, tough men at arms. The soldier must once again become the first estate of the realm. If the world wants our soldiers, they must let us train them our way.” Representatives of several hundred thousand survivors of the Waffen S.S. (Hitler’s elite troops) are to hold their biggest post-war rally in Iserlohn. Westphalia, next month. ’ They will hear speeches by forme? Waffen S.S. generals, and will “demonstrate comradely solidarity” to their corps to the accompaniment of military music from several bands.
