Precept and Example Dr. Charles Malik, Lebanon’s United Nations delegate, who invariably delivers long speeches in Security Council debates, told bishops and other clergy at the World Council of Churches assembly today to limit their talks to five minutes. Dr. Malik, a member of the Greek Orthodox Church, is serving ae chairman of one of the 15 discussion groups dealing with the Assembly’s main theme—- “ Christ, the hope of the world.” Imposing the five-minute limit on speeches he said,, he would be strict with all. “You can keep your long sermons for some other time.” Dr. Malik added that the greatest writings of all time—the Lord’s Prayer and the Nicene Creed—were of one or two minutes* duration and that they included “everything.**—Evanston (Illinois), August 19.
