OBITUARY

COLONAL G. WISHART WILL Colonel G. Wishart Will, who was chairman of the senior medical board in England during the last war, died suddenly in London last week. A son of the Rev. James A. Will of Lawrence, Otago, he was educated at the Lawrence District High School and the Waitaki Boys' High School. He qualified in medicine'at the University of Otago, and went to England in 1912 to pursue his studies in mental dis* eases.

' Colonel Will, volunteered for military service in August, 1014, and served as regimental medical officer of an East Lancashire regiment He later transferred to ambulance trains, and was wounded by bombing. After the war Colonel Will specialised in mental diseases, and was mental specialist to the Royal Army Medical Corps in India. The ship on which he was travelling back to England in 1030 was torpedoed. After his retirement from the medical board, he was editor of the Royal Army Medical Corps journal. Colonel Will is survived by his wife in London ,and by two brothers in New Zealand—Mr Melville Will (Hastings) and Dr. J. Leslie Will (Chnstchdrch).

DR. J. H. WILL (New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND. August 22. Dr. John Henderson Will, who commanded the New Zealand Ist Field Ambulance in Egypt until November, 1940, has died. He was 71. - Dr. Will was born in Scotland, and studied medicine at Aberdeen. He migrated to NeW Zealand in 1912 and practised at Te KuitL Some years later he came to Auckland. Between the two World Wars, he trained the nucleus of the Ist Field Ambulance, which he later took overseas with the Ist Echelon. He held the rank of Ueutenant-coloneL Invalided back from Egypt in 1940, Dr. Will later served on ships evacuating residents from bombed areas around the coast of Scotland until 1943. For his services be was awarded tfog E.D. Dr. Will is survived by his widow and three daughters.
