MINOR FIRES
Units of the Christchurch Fire Brigade attended four minor fires yesterday. At 11.53 a.m. a unit from the Woolston station attended a chimney fire in a house at 40 Bordesley street, occupied by Mr A. Jenkiifs. A second chimney fire was extinguished by a St. Albans engine, which answered a call to 27 St. James avenue at 2.5 p.m. The house was occupied by Mrs J. Frampton. A unit from the Woolston station and one from the Central station attended a scrub fire in a vacant section in Breezes road at 3.55 p.m. There was no damage An oven fire in a house at 17 Kenwyn avenue, occupied by Mr R. Stafford, was attended by a unit from the St. Albans station at 5.40 p.m.
