The Soviet diplomatic representative in Tokyo has protested to the Japanese Foreign Ministry against an “unprovoked attack” on the Soviet mission on August 9, Moscow Radio reported tonight.
The protest as quoted by Moscow Radio on its service' for provincial newspapers uhder a Shanghai dateline said:
“On August 9, 1954, a group of provocateurs of the Fascist organisatiorf, Haiko Sudo, attacked the premises of the Soviet representation in Tokyo. “They broke into the territory of the Soviet representation and inflicted bodily injury to the Soviet citizen, Khuaishkin, in the courtyard. They pasted up anti-Soviet leaflets and posters and tried to penetrate further into the building of the Soviet representation. “These acts took place in the presence of a large number of police who took no action necessary to prevent this unwarranted behaviour. . “Thus a gross act of violence has been committed against the Soviet representation in Tokyo and a violation of normal international custom.” The Russian representative demanded “the immediate punishment of those responsible for x this criminal act and an assurance that further such acts will be suppressed in future.”
