MOTOR-CYCLISTS KILLED
COLLISIONS WITH CARS (New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, August 15. Two motor-cyclists—one a schoolboy —were killed in separate collisions in Auckland province on Saturday. They were Michael Barral Gordon, aged 16, a pupil of King’s College, whose home was at 5 Nicholson avenue, Papatoetoe; and James Joseph Attwood, aged' 30, a machine assembler, of Clark’s Beach, near Kingseat. Michael Gordon was killed instantly when his motor-cycle collided with a car at the intersection of Carruth road and Fitzroy street, Papatoetoe, at 10 a.m. Mr Attwood had his skull and both legs fractured in a collision with a car on the main road at Karaka, between Papakura and Kingseat, at 12.30 p.m. He was taken to the Middlemore Hospital, but died two hours after being admitted.
MAN DIES FROM INJURIES
PINNED BELOW CAPSIZED TRUCK (New Zealand Press Association) WHANGAREI, August 14. One of three men who were pinned under a truck which overturned at Otaika, near Whangarei, on Thursday morning, died in the Whangarei Hospital last night. He was: Albert Curran, aged 47, of 27 Churchill avenue, Hamilton. Mr Curran was pinned under the truck until he was extricated by a breakdown vehicle. He was admitted to hospital with lacerations of the scalp, chest injuries, and fracture of the ribs.
MAN’S BODY FOUND AFTER FIRE
(New Zealand Press Association) MASTERTON, August 15. The body of a man, believed to be Robert Hadfield, aged 22, was found in the ruins of a burnt-out bach at Gladstone last night. . -
