The New Zealand galloper, Lancaster, ‘ which won the Brisbane Cup in June, re- . ceived a mixed reception at Eagle Farm yesterday when he won the £2250 Metropolitan Handicap, over one mile and a ' half. In the Exhibition Handicap last Wednes- ' day, Lancaster was stubborn at the bar- ‘ rier, swung away when the tape' lifted, and was many lengths behind the field all the way.
