CRICKET FOURTH TEST

PAKISTAN LEADS ON FIRST INNINGS ENGLAND OUT FOR 130 (NJi. Press Association—Copyright} (Rec. 10.30 p.m.) LONDON, August 14. The Pakistan cricketers redeemed their reputation—which the English weather has helped so much to tarnish—when they Sained a first innings lead of three runs ver England on the third day of the fourth and final test at the Oval today. England, which had dismissed the tourists on Thursday for 133 runs, was caught on a drying pitch today and was put out for. 130. Only some audacious hitting by Denis Compton saved England from being dismissed for less than three figures. Batting a second time, Pakistan, at stumps,.had scored 63 for,the loss of four wickets. With the weather uncertain, the match is still in the balance.

Pakistan dismissed the whole of the English side today by means of catches —a rare event in test cricket. Heroes of the Pakistan success were the pace bowlers, Fazal Mahmood and Mahmood Hussain, who both made the ball lift menacingly. Most of the English batsmen fen because they were unable to get their bats out of the way. Compton was the only one to master the bowling. He batted for 140 minutes ujider treacherous conditions. Scores:— PAKISTAN
