Medal for Marathon Runner.—The “Daily Express” is to strike a special medal to award to Jim Peters, Britain’s marathon champion, who collapsed before reaching the finishing tape at the Empire Games in Vancouver. The newspaper is conducting a £25 competition among readers for the design of the medal which, with the permission of the Amateur Athletic Association, will be presented to Peters at a public function.—Dondon* August 12.
