The Mayor (Mr R. M. Macfarlane, M.P.) and Crs. W. F. Glue and -L Christie were appointed by the Citv Council last evening as delegates w the South Island Local Bodies’ Association’s conference at the Franz Jo:e' and Fox Glaciers from October 6 **'■ October 8. The Mayor. Cr. G. Manning, and Cr. J. E. Jones were appointed delegates to the Municipal Association’s conference at Auckland next March. The Mayor of Riccarton. Mr H. 3. S. Kyle, who has been ill since laj® in April, resumed his seat at a meeting of the Riccarton Borough Councu last evening. Councillors stood when Mr Kyle entered the meeting room, and after the Deputy-Mayor. Cr.,L. X Bradshaw. expressed councillor* pleasure at seeing him back again, tn« council applauded Mr Kyle. Messrs R. Wallwork. Russell ClarkE. J. Doudney, H. G. Helmore, end W. A. Sutton were last evening appointee by the City Council as the McDougall Gallery art advisory committee. Mr D. R.
