CHOLMONDELEY HOME

The number of children in the Choimondeley Memorial Children’s Home at Governor’s Bay is at present 12. Five of these are convalescent and the others are at the home because of ill? ness of parents or some serious upset in their homes. When these details were presented at a meeting of the management committee of the home, the president (Mr E. A. Adams) said that the number of the children in the home was gradually increasing and that the committee felt that the children of a deserving family, recommended by some society, might possibly be admitted for very little or no payment.

It was reported that the school teacher (Mr Dunmill) had made puppets and a theatrette, from which the children derived much pleasure, and that Mr Paterson had given valuable help in attending to repairs at the building and arranging for a supply of fuel.

Mr Adams said that some funds were due to the home from the Radiant Health Club. When the club wound up the home had come in for some of its funds, amounting to about £4OO. There was also a small balance in the savings bank. Ndw the home was getting that balance. It would amount to about £2B.

Arrangements were made for the formation of a working bee to build a garage at the home.
