Yesterday s market closed with further buyers at £6 6s—no sellers. Breweries had stronger buying inquiry yesterday, but the only seller was for Baluns preferences at 225. Most frozen meats were wanted, including Canterbury preferences at the dearer ptice of £7 6s 6d. Christchurch Gas issues continued to attract higher bids, but none was on offer. New Zealand Farmers’ Co-operative Association’s issues were in keen demand at firm to firmer prices, but very few sellers appeared for these or any other loan and agency stocks. New Zealand Insurance had a reported i sale 9d down at £6 9s 3d, but on ’change there were unsatisfied buyers at £6 9s 6d. Woollens maintained their popularity in a very firm market. Chain stores were quiet and for once no issues were traded. Matea Forests were well to the fore with sales at 2s 6d, 2s 7d, and 2s Bd—2d up—and further buyers at 2s Bd, sellers Id away.
