BRITAIN TO CONSIDER EMPIRE PRODUCERS LONDON. July 13. Mr R. A. Butler, Chancellor of the Exchequer, .told the House of Commons today that the interests of the Commonwealth and colonial food producers had been and still would be the subject of constant attention by the British Government in its purchases of surplus American produce under the Mutual Security Act. The action to be taken on further purchases could best be considered in relation to specific offers, he said. He was replying to a question about his consultations with Commonwealth Governments on Commonwealth trade, and the policy of accepting United States defence aid in the form of surplus American food products.
