SECOND-HAND CLOTHES

Sir,—l noticed in the paper secondhand clothes advertised, especially for old persons and anyone who has not the means to buy new clothes. I could weep for the persons who have helped to build New Zealand having to buy goods that someone else has finished with. How do the public react to an old man who has helped with hard work to build New Zealand, seeing his dear old wife in some other lady’s clothes. I bet he will vote for the change in monetary reform and, with others, help to change this sorry state of affairs. —Yours, etc., A. I. LAMBTON. July 14, 1954.
