WOMEN’S DIVISION OF FEDERATED FARMERS

Canterbury North Provincial.—Mrs M. D. Frizzell presided at a meeting of the Canterbury North Provincial Executive. All 14 branches were represented. Motions of sympathy were passed with the relatives of the late Mrs F. McQuillan and to Mrs G. Loffhagen, who had suffered a bereavement. A welcome was extended: to a member of the Pahia. (Southland) branch. Arrangements were discussed for the forthcoming visit of members of the Bay of Plenty and Tauranga Provincials. Mrs Gibson gave an account of the recent National Council meeting. Dunsandel.—The mgnthly meeting of the Dunsandel branch of the Women’s Division of Federated Farmers was presided over by Mrs Hope. One new member was welcomed. Mrs Hope presented Mrs H. Frampton with a spray and congratulated her on being elected to the provincial executive committee. An interesting talK on carnations was given by Mr Olerenshnw, of Christchurch. Competition results were:—large bloom: Mrs P. Bell 1, Mrs Dix 2. Mrs E. G. Wright 3. Small bloom: Mrs F. Chamberlain 1, Mrs W. J. Balloch 2, Mrs L. G. Woods 3.
