California, has been refused a United States visa. She escaped from North Korea into the south during the war. She was refused the visa because of allegations of Communist affiliations Her runner-up in the “Miss Korea” contest, Miss Kai Sun Hai, an 18-year-old college girl, left for the United States by air today to take her place. She has been dubbed “Semi-Miss Korea.” Three days ago five members of the American House of Representatives protested against the barring from the United States of “Miss Greece”— 22-year-old Rika Dialyna. She had been alleged to have Communist leanings. A film part and lavish prizes await the winner of the “Miss Universe” competition, which will be held on July 25.
