COSTELLO BEATS THE GREAT ZORRO The Great Zorro (Holland), 17st 71b, was disqualified for not obeying the instructions of the referee in the seventh round of a professional wrestling contest at the Civic Theatre last evening. Zorro secured the first fall early in the fourth round and Costello evened with a fall in the sixth. Mr J. S. Shaw was referee. A programme of amateur events preceded the professional bout. R. Reekie (Linwood Boys Toe H), 4st 101 b, beat T. Bennett, sst, of the same club, by two falls. Reekie was too fast for his opponent and scored the first points with a good pin fall in the first round and in the following round gained a fall with a body press.

B. O’Keefe (Crighton Cobbers), lOst. beat D. Lanini (Linwood Boys Toe H), 9st 61b, on points, both wrestlers displaying a good variety of holds. J. Genet. 6st 71b beat V. Richards. 6st 51b, by two falls, the first secured in the opening round with a half-Nelson. In the third round Genet took Richards to the mat with a cross-buttock and took a fall with a full Nelson. J. Lanini, lOst 61b, and B. Roberts, lOst lib. drew in a three three-minute rounds bout. M. J. Fussell (Riccarton Health and Strength Club), lOst 61b. beat L. Win (Linwood Boys Toe H), lOst 61b, by one fall, both wrestlers showing a variety of holds and providing bright entertainment.

BEITELMAN BEATS MCGILL (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, July 14. Don Beitelman (16st 61b) obtained a points decision over Pat McGill (16st 71b) after the falls had been even, in a wrestling contest at the Wellington Town Hall tonight. McGill was substituting for Don Kindred, who was stranded at Auckland.
