FOREIGN AID BAN URGED
(Rec. 8 p.m.) WASHINGTON, July 11. The Senate Foreign Relations Committee put a spur to France and Italy, yesterday voting tentatively to stop foreign aid deliveries to the two nations by December 31 if they have not ratified the European Defence Community agreement. The decision was made a tentative part of the Foreign Aid Bill and the acting-chairman of the committee (Senator H. Alexander Smith) said the provision would be sent to the full Senate on Monday unless the State Department protested that “some dire trouble” would be caused by the proposed cessation of deliveries.
