Giant Wave On Lake Michigan

A giant wave caused by a sharp change in atmospheric pressure, accompanied by a wind squall, swept more than 20 persons into Lake Michigan yesterday. At least 13 were feared to have been drowned. One of four confirmed as dead was Mrs Mary Gabrieli, aged 45, the mother of 11 children, i Onlookers said the wave rose five to 20 feet over the beaches and harbours on the 25-mile stretch from Chicago’s south side to Wilmette in the north.
